Just as the organizational skills needed in a good leader must be demonstrated on a resume, so does leadership ability. It is how well you lead that will keep others from asking you to lead.Leadership coaching skills are extremely valuable. Knowing how to direct a group, how to motivate and inspire, can create an environment where there is never any more tension. The best leaders have the ability to create a cohesive team that moves forward. Whether they are in charge of the daily activities or the performance at the office, they are able to communicate their direction clearly and with enthusiasm. They know how to lead by example and take pleasure in others' successes.Once you coach people effectively and make them feel valued, they will behave more professionally. Most people do not see themselves as being able to orga nize or perform on the job. Your own leadership skills are unique. It takes a combination of communication and leadership skills to make a group or team function as smoothly as possible. No one is perfect, but you can teach yourself and others how to become a very good team player.Everyone wants to be a team player, and everyone is required to be a team player. One way you can demonstrate this is to have your work ethic written into your job description. It says, 'Work Ethic: They shall...' and then goes on to list the qualities that must be demonstrated, which include being prompt, being punctual, and sharing responsibility for the work to be done. Then you are expected to document these same qualities in your organization. Every member of the company is expected to have these qualities in addition to the typical duties expected of them.This demonstrates you will exhibit the qualities expected of you if you are promoted to management level. You may be responsible for tasks that see m fun, such as writing code for a new computer system. Once your work ethic has been documented, you will be more likely to rise in the company.This is not just a way to make yourself seem better but make you a better leader. If your leadership qualities are not clearly documented on your resume, others will never know that they are in the same position you are in. But a good leader can teach a new team member the behaviors that will help them become a team player and keep the others accountable for their contributions. They will also be the ones who make the team members feel good about being part of the team.These things apply to your organization, your employees, and even your clients. However, the one thing that is especially important in your business is your client. Even if you can be a great leader, you cannot help another person if you are not part of the group that they are in. You cannot work in their world, either. A healthy business relationship is very important in orde r to have a successful business.So, even if you are not the best leader, or the best team player, you can still have a professional and powerful resume. Showing how well you lead others will help you to earn a much higher salary than you could get just by being the leader.
